2019 Holiday Swap - Are You Interested?

Hello all, my thanks are extended to Dorothy for putting together ideas and materials for this year's Holiday Swap!  Here is the announcement:

Dear Friends,
We are almost ready to begin our holiday swap. Right now we want to determine how many people might be interested.
We will have two swap categories as before, one for $35 and the other for over $35.

This year’s theme is Star Shine.
When you hear the word “star” what does it mean to you? A nursery rhyme, astronomy, Bethlehem, freedom? Whatever your connotation of the word “star,” you can make or purchase star-related gifts for your Swap Mate’s Little Darling.

There are two parts to the Swap: the gift part and the story part.
Part 1 – Gifts
Following the guidelines of your selected category, you will choose gifts for one Little Darling and your Swap Mate.
Part 2 - Story
You can create a brief story to accompany your gifts. For example, you could write about the Little Darling going to Pasadena, California to the Hubble Space Station to look through the optical telescope at the stars.

If you think you might participate, please reply to this post with Count Me In.

We will share the Swap details and time line later. Swaps are always fun activities for our members. We hope you will join in on this one!

Problem with my internet

I’m having some intermittent internet problems, so if you don’t hear from me right away, you’ll know why. :>(    I've received a lot of names signing up for the Sew Along and will confirm when I can.  Also, TOMORROW IS THE LAST DAY FOR THE SECRET CUPID SWAP.  If you are hesitant because we encouraged a lot of little things and you can't find them or shop for them, don't worry.  As long as you keep to the $20 limit - do count the cost of the fabric you have on hand, for example, and credit your time as part of the cost.  Thanks!  I'll personally be in touch when I can.

A Spring Swap - White House Easter Egg Roll

In conjunction with our sister group on Yahoo, we are going to conduct a spring Easter swap.  If you are an active member at both sites, please just sign up on ONE of the sites.  We are having the same rules and guidelines for both, but are having two separate swap groups so if you are more active on one site you can stay at that site to see the photos and discussion from your swap group and swap partner.  Sandy will be coordinating at the Yahoo group and I will coordinate here.  So here goes!  Thanks to Sandy Moore for the guidelines, idea and basic set up!

Little Darling is invited to the White House Easter Egg Roll!  This has been an Easter tradition since 1878.  See here for the official White House page about it:  http://www.whitehouse.gov/EasterEggRoll

Our Little Darling plans to wear her (or his) finest spring outfit to this event!  Swappers should plan on sending an outfit for their partner's doll and something to carry the Easter Egg in (purse, basket, bag, etc.).  A treat should be included (candy or similar) for the Little Darling's Mama.  The dollar limit is $30 (please stick to this).  You will be asked to mail your swap out no earlier than April 8 and no later than April 11 and you will be expected to share photos of your received swap gift once it arrives.  Please remember that swapping is a commitment and you should not sign up if you cannot follow through.  See here for our general swap guidelines, about halfway down: http://ourlittledarlings.ning.com/rules

If you wish to sign up for this swap here on this site, please go here:  http://ourlittledarlings.ning.com/groups/spring-swap-2015 and click Join.  Note that even if you don't wish to sign up, the group and all its posts are viewable by everyone so we can all enjoy, even if we don't participate!  Once you join the group, you should email me (my address is in the group) with your name, email address, phone number, postal address, whether you are willing to ship outside the US and whether you wish to receive items for a boy or girl.  Sign up by March 9.  Swap partners will be assigned in about a week.

Little Darling's Night Before Christmas Swap!

UPDATE: EXTENDED DEADLINE for one more week!!

Sandy is organizing another wonderful swap for us all!  Here's the scoop!

Little Darling's "Night Before Christmas Swap" -

It's the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring.... EXCEPT for Little Darling who is impatiently waiting for Santa Claus to come! She came down after everyone had gone to sleep and cozied up to the Christmas Tree and waited for Santa.
Sign up for this swap by simply joining the group below--click the link. You will be contacted for your address to receive further instructions. The deadline to have your swap in the mail is December 10th. You don't have to sew for this swap, if you don't want to. You will have plenty of time to gather your swap gift contents. So come on, and join the fun. We will close this swap at midnight on October 18th. You will get your instructions as soon as I get your mailing address. There will be a $40.00 spending limit on the swap.

Some technicalities:  to help us organize our swaps, we are trying out using a group.  There is a separate photo album there and a separate discussion board so we can talk all we want about the swap and share photos when our gifts arrive.
